The tech division (GAME_DESIGN §12, eight stars, "Tech division"): what the police's ladder (police-ladder.ts) sends after a player at eight stars and up, each announced on the radio a few seconds before it comes (TECH_DIVISION.announceTicks, M12: with the police scanner a player hears every line, without it the ones near them).
- The kill switch (C6, "remote compliance update"): the player's car, when it is no old car with nothing to hack (
@foi/sim'sisAnalog, R14) and has no hardened ECU (mods.ts), is hacked: the HUD counts down ten seconds, then its engine dies for twenty (VehicleState.stalled, as an EMP's does). Getting out (or into another car) cancels it, and so does an EMP's pulse of the player's own over the car: the hack starts over later. - The swarm (C15): four small drones (
@foi/sim's swarm drone class) circle the player; one at a time dives at a player on foot, its whine the tell for the 0.6 s its taser winds up (drone-taser.ts), and fires from 3 m: stunned, the player is the police's to arrest (police.ts' knocked arrest). Any shot downs one, an EMP every one in reach, a jammer's reach cuts their link and they drift home. - ComplianceBots™ (C27): slow robots on foot (
profiles.ts'COMPLIANCE_BOT_PROFILE,@foi/sim'srobots.ts: three hundred points, shrugging off gas, the taser, the tranquilizer and the flashbang) that walk up to the player and grab them in their claw within 1.5 m: three seconds held is an arrest, unless the player struggles free (the interaction key, a few times) or the robot lets go: shot, it staggers; an EMP's pulse, a water jet or a blast shuts it down a while (it falls over); a jammer freezes it; a fall of more than four metres wrecks it. The tell is its stomp. - A robot dog (C28): a robot in a dog's body that trots after the player up stairs and ramps (the navigation's ladders are a person's), its eyes the police's; a blow or a car knocks it over for three seconds, a fall from a roof wrecks it.
- Private security (M15): a district of a theme that has a force of its own (DISTRICT_FORCES: a tech campus's) sends its own ComplianceBots, in its livery, in the place of the police's cruisers from three stars.
Each drone and robot counts against the room's cap on police actors (police.ts). When the stars drop below what sends them, the swarm flies off and the robots go. Deterministic: the players by stars then client id, the book's lists in the order they were made.
