What the police fit to the cars at seven stars (GAME_DESIGN §12, the simulation's tracking.ts and grappler.ts), every frame, for every car on screen (the player's and everyone else's), as the snapshots carry it:

  • A GPS tag on a car (CarView.tracked): a small beacon on its rear bumper blinking red (beaconOn), a red glow round it while it is lit.
  • The Grappler's net on a cruiser (CarView.grappler): a steel frame with a net strung in it across its front bumper, glowing cyan while another car is within FITTINGS.armedReach of its nose (netArmed): about to catch a wheel.
  • A car the net holds (CarView.hooked): a cable from its rear bumper to the nose of the nearest Grappler behind it within FITTINGS.cableReach (cableFor).

Each is a set of thin instances of one mesh, as armour-view.ts's bull bars are: every fitting of a frame costs a draw per kind.
