Placeholder sounds synthesized in code, so the game needs no audio file to make a sound: an engine loop, a tyre scrub loop for drifting, a short chiptune music loop, a siren's wail, a car horn, a dog's bark, an explosion's boom, a fire's crackle, an ice-cream van's music-box jingle, the rain's hiss and the wind's gusts (weather-view.ts's sky), the weapons (a pistol's, a shotgun's and a rifle's shots, a swing, a throw, a rocket, a dart), a hit, a carjack and the menus' quiet cues (a move, a select, a back, the pause's radio squelch, the title screen's start), each returned as a WAV data URI that Howler plays like any file. They are the sound bank's placeholders (audio/placeholders.ts): a file dropped where the bank looks for one (apps/client/audio/README.md) plays instead.
